Internet Marketing and web design

October 15, 2013

Galen Workmkan Since the last edition of The Common Sense Internet Gazette, in-boxes have become increasingly saturated with commercial newsletters. I felt that adding to the email din wasn't helping my clients and friends.  I stopped sending the regular multi-article newsletters and expected no one would notice.

I am happy to report that I was wrong.  I have received several messages asking that the person be put back on the newsletter subscription list. In response, I faithlessly promised I would resume production.  Something bothered me about starting up again, and I couldn't figure out what.

Finally, I think I have figured it out.  The old style, long newsletter was a lot of work to create and too daunting for most people to read.  People liked getting it, but over time fewer people clicked through on the links.

I am ready to test the validity of my revelation. I am relaunching the newsletter.  There will be fewer stories each edition.  Mostly the stories will be shorter, too, with links to longer blog posts or additional information.

What You Want
Your Website to Do
That It's Probably Not Doing Now

More people are using smart phones and tablets to get to your website. You want your pages to fit on each size screen.  You want the layout to change, depending on what you're visitor is using.

This automatic reordering and resizing is called a "responsive" design.  See an example of a responsive site we just did for a professional costume designer.

Get 25% Off Today!

Andrew Scoular is so passionate about helping people with their skin in an environmentally friendly, cruelty-free way that assisting with his online store is just plain fun for me.  He has created his own line of quality products, and his store is full of video tips, philosophy, and helpful information.

Yesterday he launched a fall promotion to his existing clients which he said I could share.  Enter the coupon code 25OFF and you'll get 25% off your entire order.  No minimum.  No maximum. But, the coupon code expires November 1st.

I will be without Internet for two weeks and a few days beginning October 25.  Please send any work you need done now... or I'll schedule it for my return.
